Custom Development

CAASPRE Consulting

When off-the-shelf software does not work, or non-existent, custom software is written to specifically fit your exact needs. Custom software can streamline your business, allowing you to provide better service to your customers and save you time and money.

If you find yourself storing critical business data in Worksheets or Access databases scattered throughout your organization, or performing repetitive tasks that can be automated, you might consider a custom application.

"A 'database model' is the theoretical foundation of a database and fundamentally determines in which manner data can be stored, organized and manipulated in a database system. It thereby defines the infrastructure offered by a particular database system. The most popular example of a database model is the relational model." Wikipedia

CAASPRE Consulting designs databases to a relational, normalized form using an industry-standard, data-modeling tool. We will use this tool to create and maintain the database. You will receive database diagrams (entity relationship diagrams ERD) of the database and generate scripts to create and maintain the database. We have created a database modeling methodology (which we can share with you) and adhere to it during the modeling process. If you prefer your own methodology, we will follow that.

Why Data Models?

Traditionally, data models are built during the analysis and design phases of a project to ensure that the requirements are fully understood and correctly captured. CAASPRE Consulting creates data models during these phases, however, models have other uses.

Communication. Communication is the primary reason we build data models.

Compliance. We employ data models to ensure that database standards are followed.

Other reasons include:

  • Understadning an application

  • Perform impact analysis

  • Understand business areas

  • Facilitate training
